At the Shell Select convenience store within the gas station, BellaBot, dressed in a uniform matching the store staff, is responsible for delivering food to customers in the dining area. According to official sources, BellaBot efficiently automates food delivery by announcing its arrival and displaying table numbers when it reaches customers, with illuminated trays signaling guests to collect their orders. BellaBot can deliver multiple orders at once and can stop immediately if obstacles are detected. It also features multiple interaction modalities, including voice, light, and touch.

KettyBot, on the other hand, serves as a guide and marketing assistant in the store, welcoming customers and informing them about ongoing promotions. It helps customers find desired items, such as a delicious Shell coffee. The Shell gas station in Września is the first in Europe to utilize delivery robots, making BellaBot and KettyBot pioneers for Shell’s European operations.

Aligned with Shell’s vision of “Innovation at Fuel Stations + Developing Green Energy,” both BellaBot and KettyBot utilize green energy solutions. These robots have been tested for endurance, capable of running for up to 24 hours on a 4.5-hour charge. Thanks to Pudu’s self-developed high-precision SLAM navigation solution, they can freely navigate the gas station and perform tasks efficiently. Their excellent performance has garnered coverage across multiple Shell Poland official channels and has even received strong recommendations from Shell’s European headquarters.

According to Monika Kielak-Łokietek, Director of Shell Poland’s Gas Station Department and Retail Network Development Center, Shell Poland is dedicated to launching groundbreaking solutions in the market, such as the automated delivery of orders to customers’ tables. Continuous product innovation aims to enhance service quality, meet customer expectations, and make gas stations more attractive to patrons.

At the 2022 Petrol Trend conference, the gas station featuring BellaBot and KettyBot stood out among numerous competitors in Poland’s oil industry and was awarded the “Best Gas Station of the Year” and “Gas Station Star of the Year,” along with the “Best Technological Innovation Award.” This initiative is a strategic step towards enhancing the convenience of gas station facilities and developing green energy solutions, while also providing support to staff.
