Interactive Museum Navigation and Engagement with KettyBot at MNACTEC
The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (MNACTEC) has successfully integrated two KettyBots into its exhibition areas to enhance the visitor experience. These state-of-the-art guide robots not only assist in navigating the museum but also engage visitors with interactive audiovisual content.

Located in Catalonia, MNACTEC is dedicated to showcasing the evolution of science and technology. As part of its efforts to modernize the museum experience, MNACTEC has introduced robotic assistance to guide visitors around its vast exhibition spaces.

MNACTEC deployed two KettyBot robots equipped with advanced autonomous navigation and localization systems utilizing LIDAR technology. These robots allow visitors to select their destination via a user-friendly touchscreen interface. Upon selection, the KettyBot guides them to the desired exhibition while providing relevant audiovisual material at key points of interest, enhancing the educational experience through interactivity.

The implementation of KettyBot has significantly improved visitor engagement and satisfaction. The robots have become an integral part of the museum’s operations, seamlessly navigating through crowded areas, and providing tailored support to visitors. This innovative approach has positioned MNACTEC as a pioneer in the integration of robotics within cultural institutions in Catalonia, attracting more foot traffic and positive feedback from the public.
